This allows AlphaZero to balance exploration (trying out new moves) and exploitation (choosing moves that are known to be strong). The final move selection is based on the visit counts of the tree nodes, which represent the number of times each move has been explored during the search.

The synergy between self-play, neural networks, and MCTS enables AlphaZero to develop an intuitive understanding of the game, akin to human players, but with superhuman precision and depth. This approach contrasts sharply with the deterministic and rule-based methods of traditional engines like Stockfish.
